GERD GERHARD, WATERCOLOURIST
Landscape and Architectural Paintings
INTRODUCTION
Drawing and Painting has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Although pushed into the background during my middle years due to career and family commitments, I eagerly picked it up again as soon as I retired, and moved to Cheshire.
In 1999 I joined a local Art Club where I was introduced to Watercolour Painting which, over the years, has become my main medium, providing countless hours of relaxation and enjoyment!
I paint my subjects fairly realistically, using a varied palette to suit the subject and mood I wish to depict. My favourite subjects are:
Landscapes from Coasts to Mountains,
Woodland through all Seasons,
Buildings with History and Character.
I have exhibited and sold my work both here in the Northwest and in London as well as abroad, where some of my paintings may be found in private collections in Germany, Switzerland, Holland, and the USA.
My local involvement continues as a member of the Cranage 2000 Art Club where some of my work can be seen at the annual club exhibition; I also exhibit occasionally at the Library in Holmes Chapel. I enjoy passing on my experience to others, and will be hosting Watercolour Courses at Lower Withington for aspiring artists interested in my main pastime:
Painting in Watercolour!
